Antimist Lacquer – A solvent based lacquer applied to packaging films for moisture sensitive products, such as salads to add visual impact to the product and make it more attractive on the shelf. Antimist Lacquer contains surfactants used to modify substrate surface tension and prevent the formation of mist/fog (H20) on the inside of packaging. Antimist prevents water droplets (formed due to Relative Humidity, Temperature and Surface tension of the film) forming on polythene, polypropylene, polyester and PLA flexible films. Materials used in Antimist are permitted under 21 CFR 178.3400, 176.180 and 175.105 of the Food Additives Regulations for use as an emulsifier and/or surface active agent in the manufacture of any non-food article intended for food contact use.
